TRACTION: TRAIL ACTION

Join us in taking action for the trails

Here at For Wild Places, we want to connect the trail-running community with tangible ways we can help nature thrive.  And as trail users, we want to see our trails well maintained, so the critters, plants and ecosystems that surround them are protected and healthy.

That’s why we are excited to launch our new initiative, TRACTION!

We invite you to join us in taking action to keep our trails clean, tidy, marked and maintained so we can continue to explore wild places, whilst limiting our negative impact on the environment.

For Wild Places is excited to be working with Parks Victoria to bring several TRACTION: Trail Action days to National Parks across the state.  Join us in Gariwerd, the Otways, You Yangs and Yarra Bend for a clean-up event that celebrates community, connection to Country and conservation.

At each event, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear from environmental leaders about local issues
  • Get hands-on in helping maintain and tidy trails
  • Connect more deeply with the cultural history of the area
  • After the hard work is done, enjoy a refreshing beverage and catch up with the group

All events are free to attend, and the necessary tools or PPE will be provided.  Participants must register in advance as numbers are strictly limited.

If you can’t make it to the event, please let us know as there will be a waitlist to ensure all available spots are utilized.

As this event is hosted in conjunction with Parks Victoria, participants attending more than one TRACTION event will be required to register via ParkConnect and have a current Working with Children certificate.

Well-maintained trails allow us to explore further, for longer, and in a safe manner, so we can stay healthy and thrive into the future.
