For Wild Places

ABOUT US

WE'RE FOR WILD PLACES

What Do We Do?

Although thousands of people around the country love and enjoy wild places through activities like trail running and hiking, outdoor communities have not organised to protect the wild places that they care about.

That’s where For Wild Places comes in. Climate change, biodiversity loss, fossil fuel exploration and extraction and unsustainable development are all threatening wild places around Australia. We’re an Australian charity dedicated to inspiring and connecting outdoor communities through impactful action, fostering awareness, and building a unified voice for the protection of wild places.

We’ve been around since 2020, having been inspired by the incredible takayna Ultra (now takayna Trail) to bring this concept of sports activism to other wild places under threat around Australia. And we’ll be here until wild places are thriving and unthreatened!
