Want to be an integral part of Pilliga Ultra 2023?

For Wild Places is on the search for a Fundraising and Volunteer manager for Pilliga Ultra 2023.  We need your help to assist Pilliga Ultra runners to fundraise essential funds to support the communities fighting to save the Pilliga from coal seam gas extraction and exploration.

The role is responsible for providing support, encouragement and resources to runners participating in the event, and helping them reach their fundraising goal, whilst raising the profile of the event and For Wild Places.

The Fundraising Manager plays an important role in the success of the event, as the aim of the event is to raise funds to support the community of the Pilliga Forest, to save this inland forest from coal seam gas exploitation.  If you are motivated, innovative and passionate about grassroots campaigning, trail running and protecting the environment, then we want to hear from you.  The Fundraising Manager will work in close partnership with the Event Manager, and be familiar with Raisley for fundraising.

The role is for 6 months, for ~5 hours per week.  If you have experience in community campaigning, fundraising and volunteer management, then we want to hear from you! We are very excited to expand our small but mighty team, and look forward to hearing from you! Please feel free to forward this post onto any friends, family, running buddies or environmental champions that you think would be suitable!

We are an inclusive team and value diversity in all its forms. Women, LGBTQIA+ folks, anyone who identifies as Indigenous or any other racialised groups, those from ethnically diverse communities and people experiencing barriers or challenges with employment are encouraged to apply. In your role, we hope you will express yourself, inspire others and contribute to the dynamism of For Wild Places and the running community.  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out – hilary@forwildplaces.com
